Spots!

Yesterday Aaron went to L.C. for peer support with the grade 9's from school. At lunch time he rang me and said his skin was really bad and asked if I could bring down some of his eczema cream. He often gets eczema and from time to time it can get quite bad (sometimes depending on whether he has eaten too much wheat).

I took it down to him and he was really itchy and uncomfortable and was coming out in red spots everywhere. Later in the day he rang me again and asked if I could come and pick him up early as the rash had gotten really bad and he felt awful.

I went and picked him up and he had red spots, ALL over his body. He said even behind his ears and his scalp was itchy. It obviously wasn't his usual eczema, so he went straight down the the Dr who sent him home with some prednisolone, phenergan and claratyne to take. It looks like he is having an allergic reaction to something, and the only thing we can think of is that he was rolling around on the carpet all morning doing activities, and there may have been something in the carpet - like chemicals from cleaning.

He felt awful all night and ended up taking the phenergan and got very sleepy, and ended up going to bed at 8.30pm.

Today he is home miserable still. Hopefully it won't take long before the spots start clearing, although the Dr said it will probably spread even more before it gets better.

  3. Poor Aaron! Have you figured it out?

You're the only one I know with kids around scooter riding age. I have one of those razor scooters amongst all my stuff. I'm trying to clear it out. Interested? It's about 2 years old but I've never really ridden it. Top condition. Blue handles. Free of charge (obviously).

    Let me know. :)

  4. Hasn't had measles, but Dr didn't seem to think it was that, or I'm sure he would've said.
