While sitting with Noah in hospital this morning I got a surprise phone call from a lady from Centro Meadow Mews. She said she wanted to clarify a few things from my entry in the competition - 1. am I an Australian citizen, 2. am I 18 years or older, and 3. do I or any of my family work for Centro?
I told her the answers and she then said 'that's great, because you are the local winner!'. I couldn't believe it. I asked her which photo won and I was sure she was going to say the one of Kobe smiling, but she said it was the ANZAC day one. I totally did not expect it to win at all as the other photos were so awesome and it was one that I just entered at the last minute.
I have won a digital camera and printer package worth over $560 which I get to pick up on Tuesday. I love my digital SLR camera, so Jalen is very excited as he gets to use the new camera. I've told him it's still mine though ;)
I am now in the running for $10,000!!! Of course I won't win it as there are about 60 other winners in the national final, but it's still very exciting. I still really can't believe that the photo won. I rang Nan to tell her and Pop and she was very excited. Poor Pop is in hospital also with pneumonia - he and Noah are a good pair at the moment.
Congratulations, well done Lisa!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I expect to be competing against Jay and "his" new camera next year. Good luck in the National comp - you never know - your Pop's face just makes that photo!
