It is over! Yesterday we finally performed out two shows of 'The First Christmas'. It was very exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time, and I only had a small role to play! We all arrived a couple of hours before to get in our costumes, warm up, test the mics and put our make up on. We all had a great time stirring the guys as they got their make up on - especially Jim.
The 'shepherds' did the can can to warm up. Not sure if it helped them or not :)
We used the font area and kitchen as male and female dressing rooms, and the guys decided to put up a sign saying 'dressing room - stars only' on theirs.
The 2pm show was packed out with almost 200 people turning up. It was great to finally be able to perform to an audience and great when we got lots of laughs (in the right spots!) and claps after each scene. We have heard the same jokes for the past 6 months or so, so we don't really find them funny anymore (except for the one where Jim says that Lizzy gets her exceptional good looks from him!), so it was great to hear laughs from the audience.
By the night show everyone was a lot less stressed and it went really well. We probably had another 150 people or so come to the night show. The responses that we got from lots of people was that it was 'worth the trip', 'very professional' and 'first class', so we were happy with that. Aaron was actually VERY surprised as to how good it was. I'm not sure what he thought it was going to be like, but kept saying it was really good. What does he expect from all those practices! He was happy that he got to sit in the 'gold class seats' in the front row as he came early with us before the first show.
Yep, it was great Lisa - you guys did an awesome job. And a VERY stunning angel you make!
