The atmosphere isn't quite the same now that you can't use real candles. We had lots of the battery operated ones saved up from previous years, but they just don't compare to real thing. One good thing though is that I don't have to worry about the boys burning themselves.
We always meet everyone from church on the hill next to the canon. We thought we got there fairly early last night, but it was already packed out! It is a nice night to hang out with friends and get into the Christmas spirit.
Half way through the night it started spitting! We all ducked under blankets and jackets and Harri thought it was great fun. Lucky it didn't last long. Typical Tasmanian summer!
Of course the highlight of the night for the boys (other than being allowed to eat junk food all night) was seeing Santa.
Wow, looks like you all had a blast. The pics of the boys are very cute and they look so excited.
