A Cranky Day

Last night we got a dreaded phone call from Di (Noah's aide at school) to say that she had broken her wrist playing soccer (how selfish of her!!! :). That means Noah is off school indefinitely. Its frustrating as he had a month off over Winter, and now he can't go again. Di felt awful, and it's not her fault - just one of those situations. It has been so hard to find a relief aide who is confident enough with Noah and also available to fill in. Hence, we still don't have anyone and Noah can't go to school. We are looking into some options, but in the meantime Noah is home.

It's a very long day when Noah is home all day. We did make it to the gym this morning as Noah was asleep, so I knew it would be okay to go as he was relaxed in his wheelchair. The rest of the day I am busy trying to find things for him to do, so he's not just sitting in the same position all day and is moving around a lot. At school there is so much more for him to do and see, and in the school holidays we are all home, so we are usually out doing things together and the day goes a lot faster. He spent a bit of time watching a Wiggles DVD on his little portable DVD player and we also had a visit from Grandpa which was nice.

Kobe didn't help the situation today as he has been sooooo cranky. One minute he is smiling like an angel.

The next minute he is grizzling and wanting lots and lots of attention.

I have thought for ages now that he is teething, and it just seems to be dragging on, but nothing is coming. He is screaming (more than usual) when you put him to bed and just wanting to be held, much more than usual. A lot of my day was spent like this today :)

Notice how he is shoving everything into his mouth. All day he just chews and dribbles on everything. He isn't a real snuggly baby, but as soon as Aaron got home from work tonight he snuggled right in and chomped away on his bib. I wish those teeth would just hurry up.

  3. Poor Kobe - it's lucky we don't remember what teething was like for us - although I remember my wisdom teeth - ouch! I hope you find someone for Noah soon so he can get back to school.

  5. I bet that tooth or some teeth will poke up any day now. If you want to get the boys out of the house, I hear there is a Teddy Bear's Picnic in Launnie soon. Not sure of all the details.

  8. If you hadn't put the photo of Kobe grizzling on the blog I would of found it very difficult to believe such a gorgeous little guy would grizzle. He is such a cutie and looks like a real little charmer. Hope Noah is able to go back to school soon so you can return to your normal routine.

  9. Thanks Konn. He is a real charmer - he is so alert and wanting to see everything. He LOVES being out and about and checking things out. Trust me - he grizzles!! :) It's lucky he is so cute as some days you would want to give him away!! ;)
