Simone's Surprise

Last night we had heaps of fun surprising Simone for her birthday. Simon had arranged a girls night out without her knowing. I sent her a text earlier in the day saying happy birthday and asking if she was doing anything special and she replied 'not really, probably getting pizza for tea'. I had a little laugh to myself as I knew she was going to be totally surprised.

Jacquie, Felicity, Tammy, Mel and I were all waiting at Fitzpatrick's Inn just across the road from her house for her to show up. Merilyn and Lisa did a great job at making it sound like it was actually her idea to come over! They came out to see her and said that they should go out somewhere for tea and asked her some suggestions. She suggested a few places close by - Fitzpatrick's Inn being one of them, and Merilyn of course jumped on that saying 'yes - let's try that one and see what it's like'.

Her face when she walked in was classic. She looked at us and it was like she knew we were there, but just couldn't work out what we were doing there, when it was her idea to go there!

It was a really fun night, and so fun to be in on the surprise. Our husbands were giving us a hard time for going out on Valentine's Day, but of course none of us would've been going out anyway, so what better way to spend it than with your girlfriends!

Although I'm only 4 months behind Simone, I told her she is officially into middle age now that she is 35 ;)

Lucky she didn't have that many candles to blow out! We were very impressed that Simon had also arranged a (very yummy!) cake.

Jonty is growing up so fast, and is such a cutie. He was all smiles whenever someone would talk to him.

Poor Sarra and Hallie thought they were all going swimming for their Mum's birthday, but I think they were just as happy to hang out with the girls and have some yummy food.

Hope you had a nice birthday Simone! Simon will have to top that one on your 40th now - wonder what he will come up with next time! :)

    I was reading Toni's blog.
