This was taken a week ago, so the house has developed more over the past week,. The trusses are now all up as well as almost all of the frame! Our builder rang me this morning telling me that someone had broken into his container overnight (which was securely locked) and stolen over $7000 worth of his tools!!
It's so frustrating - for him and us. He's not sure if insurance can cover it or not, and I feel terrible for him, but I'm just hoping it doesn't hold things up too much. He said he thought the container was a good idea to store things onsite, but now is going to get rid of it which means more going back and forth with tools and equipment.
I just keep reminding myself - it WILL be worth it in the end :)
Wow - it looks like a house! How annoying about the builder's tools - surely his insurance should cover it - I hope so.
ReplyDeleteAnd YES it will SO be worth it!
Would you believe the word verification is kingst? King Street it is :)
arrrrg, that is so frustrating. It makes me mad how many dishonest people there are. Im loving the house progression though! Imagine what Nettie will be like when her house starts!!! he he
ReplyDeleteOh Lisa that is so bad for him - it happens so much - Elissa and Aaron got tiles and stuff stolen from their unfinished house....people stalk building sites!! Let Jared know if he is needed!!xx
ReplyDeleteSo blogging instead of doing the talk eh? How exciting to see the rooms coming together. Aah and to sit on your own toilet for the very first time that noone else has ever used.......that's my dream ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah it sucks! All of our tiles and internal doors were taken. And Luke's tile cutter. Nothing is safe!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! Your poor builder. Hope they catch them.
ReplyDeleteOh No!!! I hope it is covered- insurance usually doesn’t cover onsite tools but given that it was in a secure container I sure hope they do! It is really common and so sad. Why do people feel that they have the right to take what you (your builder) have worked hard to obtain?! So sad!!!
ReplyDeleteOh laughing so hard at Simones comment - though Alot of builder's /tradies use the loo's in the unfinished houses!!! (Jared thinks it is gross to do that!!)
ReplyDeleteLovely tresses (whatever they are) and poo to the thieves of tools. You will have a great house in no time!
ReplyDeleteDamn Mongrels.
ReplyDeleteI too had to really have a laugh about Simone's remark.
Hope Nathan can get his insurance company to cover it all.
Love Mum.
xxx
How exciting, it is starting to look like a real house now.
ReplyDeleteSORRY! It's just very sad that there are dishonest people in this world. I hope things continue to move along for you!!!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting to watch it all come together.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame about the thieves though... hope it all works our with insurance etc.
p.s. happy birthday for yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so sorry! We're building a house right now too! How fun! We're almost done, so yes- I can tell you, it's worth it in the end, even though it's stressful at times!
ReplyDeleteOh how annoying about how annoying about the builders tools!!
ReplyDeleteBut, wowee it is looking cool! How exciting! :)
