For Aaron's funeral Jalen and I put together some photos from Aaron's life to music, so we could play it in the foyer while people were coming in. It was so hard to quickly come up with some songs but we knew we had to choose an Oasis one as they were Aaron's favourite band. We chose the song 'Perfect' because the message is what Aaron always wanted his students to remember - that they should believe in themselves no matter what. The last song we chose - 'Without You' was popular at the time and was exactly how we were feeling - that we couldn't live without him.
Thank you to Kim who helped me convert the clip out so I can finally share it on here. It's not great quality, but I wanted to share it on here so the boys can watch it whenever they want. It's quite long but has some great photos from Aaron's early years (when the boys say he looks like a girl :) and lots with his students from school.
Thank you so much to everyone who has voted for my blog in the top 25 Australian Mum blogs competition. I'm blown away by how much support we have. I'm currently coming third. There is no prize - just recognition for being one of the top 25 Aussie Mum blogs (who were nominated - I'm sure there are so many more that deserve to be there but haven't been nominated).
There is still ten days to go until the competition is finished, so please keep voting. You can vote once every 24 hours. You can vote by going here or to the link at the top of my blog.
What a wonderful video, Lisa. You and Jay did a great job. A true love story...I was touched!
ReplyDeleteThat video was beautiful and so full of love. Wish I had been privileged to know Aaron and Noah. Much love to you and the boys. You are always in my prayers.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful video, Lisa. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDelete8 months and nearly 1 year... I don't know what to say about that. Maybe what you said 'crazy'. That kind of sums up all the feelings. x
ReplyDeleteTime is a strange thing hey. Feel so much for you Lisa and love ya. I ALWAYS think of Aaron when I hear Oasis, think of him with a lot of things actually. He definitely isnt going to fade away xx (damn I cant see the verification code... tears!)
ReplyDeleteI put those songs on my playlist, and I just cry whenever I am in the car, and an Oasis song comes on.
ReplyDeleteLast night, I knew today was eight months since Aaron left us, and I couldn't sleep, because I was thinking about Noah and everything that happened on that day, at the beach and how happy he was.
I still am in total shock about it.
Time has seemed to have stood still.
Know that my arms are wrapped around your heart always.
I love you more than you will ever know, and Zi miss Aaron so much.
Where has that year gone since Noah slipped away?
Love Mum.

I pray for you that with time things will get easier. I can't even imagine what it must be like for you, but know that there are some sad things that happen in our lives that are very hard to deal with and I know that feeling. You are an amazing person and an amazing mum. All you can really do is keep going one day at a time. Sending you love and light.
ReplyDeleteDarn - work blocked the clip, I will be sure to watch it at home where I can have a good cry.
