Playschool

A while back I booked tickets for a Playschool concert for Kobe and I. I was really looking forward to doing something special with him and thought he would love it as he discovered Playschool a few months back and loves watching it on TV.

We were excited (well I was anyway - don't think Kobe had a clue what was going on!) as we knew lots of our friends and family were also going. We also met Pip and Ben with Oli and Matilda; Steph, Chloe and Lachie; Sarah, Taj and Owen; Bec and Annie; Kate and Sophie and Karen and Molly.

We grabbed some seats on the floor right near the front. The presenters were Alex Papps and Angela who was on Playschool years ago. It cracked me up as Sarah or Pip had never seen her before. They asked me if I knew her and I did really well as she was around when Jalen was a baby. I actually knew her better than I know a lot of the presenters they have on it now. I guess we have been watching Playschool for at least 6 years longer than the others we were with - makes me feel very old - or at least reminds me that I have old kids compared to a lot of my friends.

As soon as they came out and started singing Kobe burst into tears!!! He wasn't happy at all and was really worried about all the noise and the kids clapping and laughing and really didn't know what to make of it. We ended up having to stand up and move to the back till he calmed down.

Once he got used to the crowd and the noise he was okay and was happy to go back up the front.

They had all the old favourite playschool characters and sang all the old favourite songs. The best part was the story they acted out which had a lot of humor in it for the adults as well as for the kids.

All the kids loved it but Taj, Oliver and Chloe seemed to really enjoy it - they are at that age where they really get into it a bit more. The kids were cute to watch.

Oliver scored well, getting a big Humpty on the way out. Kobe was eyeing it off and wanted one as well.

The concert was at the Tailrace Centre so we hung around for a drink afterwards. It was fun comparing Bec, Kate and Karen's pregnant tummys. Karen is due in about a week and then Kate in 3 weeks, and Bec still has 9 weeks to go. Don't worry Bec - you get more time to just enjoy having one child before your world is turned upside down - again! :)

  5. Thanks for sharing Lisa. I love reading your stories. I remember taking Laura and Bethany to see a Play School Concert in Hobart with Coral Crossin and her kids. I'm pretty sure I was more into the singing and dancing than the kids were!! How sad that my kids are all grown up and now I have no excuses to go along to Play School Concerts anymore!!!
