My Old Roomie

I'm so excited! Another friend of mine has started a blog! Paige was my roomate at Ricks College (now BYU Idaho) around 15 years ago (boy that makes me sound SO old!!) and we are still in contact via email. It makes me laugh as she will often email me saying 'nice new kitchen' etc and I realise that she has been reading my blog:)

Altogether in our apartment were 6 girls, including myself. Of course Paige was one of my favourite roomies as well as Allison. Paige is the top left, and Allison is top right.

We had such a great time together, and used to get up to crazy stuff, like run around in the snow at all hours of the night!

When we were at Ricks, Paige was going out with Doug. He was in our ward (we were the 36th ward I think - can't remember how many wards there were on campus, but it was something incredible). They were a great couple and when I left to come home, Doug left to go on his mission, for our church.

I don't think Paige did the 'waiting for him' thing, but they did write and I'm happy to say that they have been married 12 years and have 5 beautiful kids. I'm still amazed that they are married and have 5 kids! I still feel as young as we were back at Ricks, so it is hard to imagine them being married and with kids!! I'm excited to now keep up with their lives a little bit more via their blog.

Pampered

On Sunday after church I had a lovely surprise with Jess Triptree asking if I was doing anything on Tuesday night, and whether I would be her adopted Mum for the night. The Young Women were having a Pamper Night for their Mum's before Mother's Day, and since Angela has three daughters in Young Women's she got to share them around for the night, instead of having all three massage her at the same time :)

We started off the night with chocolates and non-alcoholic wine, in a dimly lit room with relaxation music going.

Ellen then talked to us about massage and different pressure points on the body etc. She had brought along lots of lotions and potions, and hand massagers for the girls to use on their Mums.

She talked about how different pressure points can help different conditions. I got very excited and we joked about Jess bringing on labour for me, by rubbing certain parts of my body. This was the view I had most of the night, as Jess gave me a beautiful foot massage.

All the Mum's were very spoiled, and I was very lucky to be invited along for the night :)

Although I don't think eating chocolates, while laying down and being pregnant mixes very well. I think I am going to pay for it with reflux all night!

Sam cracked me up as she was so relaxed by giving her Mum a massage. She kept getting drowsier as the night went on, and she wasn't even the one having a massage!

It was a lovely night, and nice to hang out with the Young Women again.

Kissing Cousins

Today we had a visit from Becky and Kelsea who had to come into town for a couple of things. It was great to see them, as we don't get to catch up as much as we would like. Kelsea is so cute. Becky and I were talking about how she is a lot like Jalen - in looks and personality. Very placid and sensitive, just like Jay.

I asked Harri to sit with her for a couple of photos before they left and they were so funny giving each other hugs and kisses.

Oliver turns 1!

Today we went out to Pip and Ben's to celebrate Oliver's 1st birthday. It was his actual birthday yesterday and all day Pip and I were texting back and forth saying things like 'remember this was the time you were heading into hospital', or 'this was the time when he was born' etc. It was such an exciting day as everyone had waited so long for him to come.

Oliver was very excited, but I don't think he really knew what was going on - he was just excited because of all the people at his house.

He loved it when everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' and had a huge grin, and then dived at the cake when Pip offered it to him!

It was nice being able to celebrate with them, although Noah didn't have as much fun as the rest of us - getting cranky after a little while. Oliver didn't care at all and was continually going over to him and touching his face and hands.

The new Triple M's

Last night I went along to watch the new Triple M (More Molly Mormons) basketball team play, as they were playing just before the Mollies who I also wanted to watch for a little while.

It was a good night to go and watch as Sarah was down from the mainland for a few days, so Felicity, Sarah, Rebecca and Helene were all playing together for the first (and probably only) time.

On the team are also Pauline, Lisa and Jacquie who all played very well. Jared jumped in at the back of the photo to show what he really thought of the team! :) The score didn't reflect how well they actually did as they got thrashed, but they all played well and I think they will become a good team.

I had a few shots with the Mollies before the game started and am looking forward to hopefully getting back into it within the next couple of months.

Warming up

Today Jay had his cross country race. It was at Waverley Primary School as they have a good oval and lake that you can run around. The weather this morning was drizzly and cold and Harri and I dreading going to watch in the drizzle, but knew we should go to catch the action.

It was worth going to watch just for the laughs! I think Jay has been watching way too much of 'The Biggest Loser' as before the race he started to do all these push ups and were getting his friends to do them all too!

He was also doing lots of stretches to warm up.

Even at the starting line he was doing push ups!! I'm not sure how he thought it would help in the race :)

I wasn't sure how he would go as he isn't the most athletic person, but he did quite well.

Bec - thought you would like to see this photo :)

"Little" Annie

This morning Harri and I thought it was about time we went to visit Bec and Annie. It is hard to believe that Annie is already over 8 weeks old! We haven't seen them for ages, and every other time we have to visit she has been asleep, but we were lucky today that she woke up while we were there.

"Little" Annie, isn't so little anymore! She is so cute, with the cutest chubby cheeks. She is the 'dream baby' as she is so settled and happy all the time. Bec is very lucky :)

While we were visiting, Bec's niece - Sophie also came to visit. She is so cute and wanted to help do everything with Annie.

I told Harri that we had better get going so Annie could have another sleep and he looked outside and said 'but it's not night time Mum!'. He has a lot to learn about babies! I told him that babies (hopefully!) sleep a lot in the daytime too as they have to have energy to grow, and he thought it was hilarious that babies would sleep in the day as well as night.
