Mad House

Tonight was our monthly family tea at Mum and Dad's. With so many kids running around it gets very noisy, especially when my boys get revved up by Uncle Jared! :) It was the usual family tea night - I cut hair - no pics of that thank goodness. My huge stomach was covered in hair by the end of it!

The grandkids collected eggs with Grandma.

Not sure what Harri is saying here, but I think it is pretty much 'stay back chook, don't come any closer!!'. He is still petrified of them. Thanks Becky for capturing some great photos for me :)

LOTS of food (too much for my stomach to take in thanks to this baby taking up lots of space now!).

Noah being cranky and having to be held all night. The only time he stopped yelling was when he would doze off.

A phone call from Chrish who we wish was with us, rather than just on the phone.

And a new tradition suggested by Steph - a birthday cake for Maddi as it is her birthday later in the month. Now whenever someone is celebrating a birthday that month we are going to have a cake for them, on family tea night. January, June and September are going to have a number of people blowing out the candles.

Excited Boys

Aaron and the boys just got back from the Hawthorn training session and the boys are so excited. Harri was excited to tell me about Hawka - the mascot who kept giving him Hi-5's. He didn't care about any of the real players though! Jay was excited to have gotten lots of the players autographs and to show me all the free stuff they scored.

Aaron said that they arrived just in time to see the team getting off the bus, and Jay was lucky enough to get Shane Crawford's autograph even before the training session. Usually he is hard to get as he gets swarmed by everyone. Chrish - you will be happy to know that Aaron got Andrew McCloud's autograph as well. He told him that even though he didn't play for Hawthorn he was a champion.

Engagement Party

Today was Adrian and Chelsea's engagement party.

Aaron was disappointed that the Hawks training session fell at the same time as the party, so he came to the party with the boys for a little while and then ducked off to the training session at Aurora. He won't get to see them play tomorrow against Adelaide, so watching them train and getting autographs is the next best thing.

Noah and I stayed at the engagement party and caught up with everyone, and ate lots of yummy food.

Noah has had a pretty good week, until this morning. I knew he wasn't quite right when I picked him up from school yesterday, and this morning he woke up screaming, and has been all day. He settled for about 20 minutes or so at the party, but then started up again. It wasn't fun for anyone with him screaming, so I decided to bring him home. Simone was nice enough to give us a lift home and the funniest thing was me trying to climb through our bedroom window to get into the house, as I had no keys. I joked with Simone that we needed a photo for the blog, but lucky for me she was busy holding Noah and couldn't get to the camera at the same time. It would have been a sight seeing a hugely pregnant woman trying to get through the window!

"Little" Alex

The Watsons came to visit today. It was great to see them - especially to see 'little Alex' (who isn't so little anymore) as we haven't seen him very much yet. He is so cute and loved having a cuddle with Jay. He gave us lots of smiles. To me he reminds me of Nicki in her baby photos.

Nicki is lucky to have such an easy going baby again. I want to know her secret of how to get such good babies :)

Fresh Air

Today our floorboards in the kitchen were being sanded and varnished. I knew it would smell, so Harri and I stayed out of the house most of the morning. When I got home I got to the front door and the smell was coming through the door! It was so strong, and it was only the first coat! The guy told me he had two more to do and that the second coat is even worse.

I think we lasted about half an hour at home before we had to get away. Pip and Oliver were coming for a visit before Oliver's swimming lesson, so we decided to get some fresh air at the park.

I haven't seen Oliver for a while. Its hard to believe that he is almost 1! He is such a cutie.

He had never been on a slide before, and absolutely loved it. He would get a huge smile every time Pip would put him at the top.

It was nice to get out, especially as it was such a nice day.

We now have half our kitchen in the lounge room again (including the fridge!) until the last coat is put on the floor tomorrow afternoon.

Pleeeease!!

Some of the things Harri comes out with, I have no idea where he learns it. Lately if he wants something he puts his hands together like he is begging me and with his big brown eyes and a big smile says 'pleeeeeeease'. Who could resist it!?

On Saturday, Aaron wanted a quiet afternoon watching the football (notice him in the background with his Hawks top on ready for the game! So sad!!) , so he let the boys veg out in our bedroom with a DVD on. Both the boys came running out to me and pleaded with me to make them some popcorn. This time it is a case of the younger brother, teaching his older brother some tricks!

So quiet

Today Noah went back to school, but unfortunately didn't have a very happy day, which we found out when we picked him up. It was so quiet without Noah home. Harri got used to spending a lot of time in my bedroom watching TV last week (trying to get away from Noah yelling), so today he wanted to lay on my bed and watch ABC kids again. I let him and after a little while I thought I might join him for a cuddle and a little lay down.

Harri asked me what I was doing and I said that I might have a little sleep and he said 'okay', which was good! I did the smart thing and set my alarm on my mobile just in case I really was lucky enough to fall asleep and 45 minutes later it went off, telling me it was time to get up so I could pick up the boys from school! I jumped up in a daze and next to me was Harri sound asleep too! He looked so cute.

The change from daylight savings has made us all a bit more tired than usual, so it was nice to have a lay down and a little nap. I carried him down to the van so we could pick up the boys and he woke up as I was putting him in his seat, and I said 'you had a sleep Harri!', and he said 'I love you too, Mum'. He was obviously half asleep as well :)
