This time last week....

All of today I have been saying 'this time last week I was....having lots of contractions....heading to the hospital.....in the shower at the hospital........pushing Kobe out' etc. I can't believe that Kobe has already been here for a whole week! It has flown.

This morning Di was coming early to do some In Home Support and I have been feeling really good, so I thought I'd make the most of the opportunity and go to the gym. Yes - I know - people are thinking I'm crazy, but I really feel good so thought I'd take Harri and Jay with me and leave Kobe at home with Aaron.

When I walked in the trainer saw me and yells out 'what are you doing here!?'. I told her I was coming to do Pump and she gives me the 20 questions - how was your labour, was there any intervention, did you have any muscle separation, how long was it, did you lose much blood etc. I told her it all went well and she was then happy to let me do the class as long as I 'took it easy'.

For the past 6 months or so we have been hearing all the pregnancy and labour jokes from the trainer. I thought it may have stopped now that I have had Kobe, and that the jokes would be directed at Emma who is pregnant, but we got even more jokes today during class. She always seems to be able to turn the lyrics of a track into something to do with labour. All the old ladies were keen to meet Kobe and have a cuddle, so they weren't happy when I told them he was home with his Dad.

It was the strangest feeling lifting weights without a big tummy! For the past few months I have been compensating for my huge tummy and only bringing the bar to a certain point, and today I was cracking myself up (easy to do!) as I would bring the bar to where I thought my tummy was and realised there was still another half a metre or so till I hit my stomach!

I have to say though that it felt great to be able to feel a little bit normal again :) I still have a big tummy - it is now a saggy one, but it is nice to be able to do things I haven't been able to do in a while, like lying on my back to do sit ups and lifting weights above my head more.

Maybe now the excitement of me having Kobe will die down and Emma and Simone can bear the brunt of all the pregnancy jokes from now on :)

Kobe's First Movie

Today we were brave (or stupid!) and took the boys to the movies with the Family Based Care school holiday program. We knew we would have help if we needed, so we were hoping that Kobe and Noah were both behaving so that we could enjoy the movie with the boys.

Everything was going well as we got Kobe to stop screaming and settle down to sleep in his capsule just before the movie. Everything was going well - at least until we got into town. I noticed in the rear vision mirror on the way there that it looked like Noah was working on a bowel movement. It was good as we had put up his bowel meds yesterday to try to get things moving, but things got moving way too much! Aaron got him out of his wheelchair to change him in the van before we went into the cinema, and it was EVERYWHERE!!!!

Pumpkin Patch was just across the road, so I made the most of their sale and grabbed him some new clothes as we didn't have a change in the car. We ended up getting to the movies just in time and luckily Kobe slept right through the entire movie. We watched 'Horton Hears a Who', which the boys loved. All of the workers and families were very excited to meet Kobe.

House full of boys

Today we had a visit from Bec, Lynne and Joel and Dearne, Sam and Oliver. It was a house full of boys! Lucky little Annie stayed home as she would have been very outnumbered. It did hit me though when Dearne pointed out that out of 8 boys, half of them were mine!

While they were here Scott, Lisa, Lizzie and Emily also dropped in. Emily and Lizzie clucked over Kobe - it was cute seeing them with him. In their card to us they very kindly pointed out that we are now classed as 'old married' since we have four kids. Thanks guys! :)

Skinny Needle

My boys seem to have a fascination with losing weight at the moment. Today I was giving myself my daily injection (to not get any blood clots) and the boys were watching and Jay asks 'what's that for - to help you lose weight?'. I couldn't stop laughing. If only it were that easy - I could give up my gym membership!

Supposedly I'm...

"not fat anymore!" :) Yesterday at church Harri wanted to sit on my knee during sacrament meeting. For the past month or so it has been really tricky as I didn' t have much of a lap for him to sit on, so he would get upset when I couldn't pick him up and cuddle him.

Yesterday he comes over to me and says very loudly and excitedly (for everyone around us to hear!) 'Mum I can sit on your knee now - you're not fat anymore!'. If only I were so positive about that!

He was so excited and sat on my knee and then he told me that when he got home he was going to fix up my person on the Wii. When you register yourself with the Wii you have to make up a profile of yourself, including how you look such as how big you are, hair, eye colour etc. The boys made my profile up about a month ago and made me look REALLY fat. This morning Harri very kindly made me look thinner.

Meeting the Family

We have had a busy weekend with Kobe being able to meet all of his family that are close by. Yesterday he got to meet Auntie Nicki, Uncle Alex, Maddi and Alex.

Maddi was so cute saying 'love Kobe'.

Its amazing to see how big Alex is now and he is only 4 months old. It's hard to imagine Kobe being like that in a few months or so.

Yesterday Kobe also met Uncle Eden, Auntie Steph and Chloe. Not long now until we get to meet their new little one :)

Aaron's Nan and Pop also came around with Aaron's Dad and Step Mum - Carrol. They were so excited to meet him and to have a cuddle. Although age is catching up with them and they are already calling him 'Cody' :)

Tonight we were very spoiled with Becky, Jared and Kels coming to visit, and Becky cooked us tea. I told her that I should be the one cooking her tea since she is now pregnant too! We are so excited for them.

Kobe is a very lucky little boy to have so many grandparents, cousins and aunties and uncles that live close by.
