Best Friends

Yesterday Harri was so excited to go and play at Hallie and Oliver's house. Simone didn't think she was busy enough getting ready to have her baby sometime within the next couple of weeks, and took Harri home with them for the day, after we went to the gym. Harri had a fantastic time, and it was sooooo quiet at our house all day. I picked up Jay from school and he turned around and says hi to Noah and Kobe and then starts to tell me about his day. He then asks when Harri was getting home and I asked him if he was missing him and he said he was.

When Harri and Jay are together all you hear is fighting, crying and yelling. Of course they love each other and have a great time together - but there is also the typical sibling rivalry.

All day today Harri has been asking when it was going to be three o'clock. He knows Jay starts walking home at 3 o'clock and knows it is after lunch. At 11am he asks if he could have his lunch. I told him it wasn't really lunch time, but I could make him a sandwich. He then says 'no, I'll have my lunch and then Jay will come home!'. He always thinks if he has an early lunch, that it will make 3 o'clock come faster.

At one stage he was looking really sad and I asked him if he was okay, and his bottom lip started quivering and he burst into tears. He came and had a cuddle and told me he was missing Jay. I think because they didn't see each other very much yesterday, they both really felt it - and it was only one afternoon! Of course that didn't stop the fights, yelling and crying today after school!! :)

Facebook

It seems that facebook is taking over the world. First of all it was myspace (never could get into that!), then YouTube, then blogging and now it is facebook. I've had a few chuckles this week while talking to Kylie B who has just joined up with facebook in the last week. I think her words were 'a whole new world has opened up to me' as she is so excited to find old friends and talk to people she hasn't seen for years and years. She even told me she is loving her computer for the first time ever! I laugh at her status updates that refers to how much time she is 'wasting' on facebook, or that she needs to hurry and clean the house before Corey gets home!

Today it was Mum's turn. I told her that she is getting good on commenting on people's blogs now, and if she really wants to keep up with the net she needs to join facebook. Mum and Dad came to visit today, so I took the chance to join her up. The first step was getting her another email address! Mum gets one every six months or so as she signs up for it, uses it for a week and then doesn't use it again and it gets closed down as it's inactive!

I was very impressed that a couple of hours after Mum and Dad left here, Mum was actually on facebook - commenting on photos, commenting on my status and tonight I even noticed that she posted a photo!!! Go Mum. I did try to chat with her, but it seems as though I was chatting to myself (what's new!) as her messages back to me got lost in cyberspace somewhere. She cracks me up as she is so nervous on it and thinks she is going to blow up the computer, or that she won't have any friends. She is hoping to find some old friends and missionaries that she knew years ago.

I love facebook as its so easy to keep up with what everyone is doing. I love it when people post photos and tag them, letting me know that one of my friends is in them and I can check out what they have been up to (some people call it stalking - I call it catching up with people!). I love that I can chat live with my friends in the U.S. or across the other side of the country, or even just 5 minutes away. I love reading all the status updates - especially when people like Declan jump on to tell us that he has updates his blog with pics of their new son, just hours after he is born. I love that if I am stuck at home with a sick boy, that I can still feel like I am in touch with the world a bit.

I don't care much for all the applications and things you can play with others on it, but I do find myself being sucked into those stupid ads on the side now and then - you know the ones that advertise how to be as thin as a celebrity in no time (I'm sure its called lots of money, liposuction and anorexia!), or the ones that will send me free samples of everything and anything!

I think Sam H. referred to facebook as being faster than the Relief Society grapevine in spreading news. I have to admit it is very true - I have found out many things via facebook - who is 'now single', who is 'in a relationship', who got a job, who is sick, who forgot to record their favourite shows on a Thursday night because they thought cleaning the kitchen was more important (isn't that right Joe?), and who has finished their exams for the year.

What did we do back in the day before the internet!? Oh that's right - we would actually talk face to face :) Got to love it though.

My Healthy Boy

Harri is always coming out with something hilarious. I keep thinking I need to post them on here more often, as he cracks me up everyday with something that he says. Today I went and bought a bottle of kids Claratyne. Jay gets bad hay fever and I thought I would also try Noah with it, to see if it helps his secretions a bit.

I got home with it and asked Jay how his hay fever had been today. He said it was okay, and I told him to let me know if it was bad as I had some new medicine he could try. Harri then asks if he could have some too. I told him he couldn't as it was just for Jay and Noah. He wasn't very happy and asks 'why!?'. I told him it was because he was healthy. He plonked himself down on the floor and crosses his arms and says 'I don't like being healthy!' (I just had to make him sit down again and pose for me!).

Queenslanders

Before church today we got to have a quick catch up with Konnie and Colin, who had been to West Ward. They are down from Queensland for the weekend - without the kids! It was so nice to see them both.

Last time we saw them all together was when we went to Queensland for Noah's Make a Wish trip. Since then we have seen Konnie and the kids, and everyone is always commenting on how much Jay and Josh look alike. Konnie is having a big procedure next Monday which will hopefully fix her heart problems up for good. Good luck Konn! We hope it works.

Noah's Big, Little Brother

This afternoon I laid Kobe on the floor next to Noah. I went away for a few minutes and came back to Kobe holding onto Noah's hand. It was so cute.

It seems like Kobe is actually Noah's big brother, as he is doing so much more than Noah already. H really pays a lot of attention to him. It's so nice seeing how he interacts with him. I remember the same thing happening with Harri and Noah. Noah didn't know what hit him when Harri started crawling all over him! At least he is safe with Kobe for a little while at least.
