Drenched Gym Buddies

We thought a fun way to finish off school holidays would be to book the bike centre out for a couple of hours and have invite all our gym buddies and their families to come along. The only time I could get was from 7 till 9 pm. Everyone said their kids had been staying up late, so we thought that time was as good as any. I booked it about a month ago and today the boys were excited to know it was finally the day that we had it. Jacquie, Sarah and Kellie couldn't make it (and Bonnie's kids are a bit past the bike centre age), but there were still lots of excited kids riding around like crazy.

Of course it had to be the only day all summer that POURED with rain!!! The night started off with just a few sprinkles of rain which was okay. We all decided to go anyway as we were hoping the rain would hold off, and if it didn't we thought it would still be fun.

When I booked it I didn't realise the date was Eden's 2nd birthday. Lisa said they would come anyway, so it was nice to be able to celebrate her birthday with her.

Lisa made her an awesome cake with one of the characters from Yo Gabba Gabba.

The first hour we only felt a few drops of rain so the kids had lots of fun racing around playing 'police and robbers' with each other. Kobe's elastic in his shorts broke and his shorts kept falling down!! He kept getting annoyed with it, so we decided it was easier to just take them off. Luckily it was a warm night.

After 8 the rain started coming down pretty hard. All the adults were sensible and stayed under the shelter.

At first we were yelling at the kids to get under the shelters, but then decided they were having too much fun and it was a warm night so we let them go for it.

Kobe absolutely LOVED it!! He was running around in the rain and puddles like a crazy boy, laughing the whole time.

At one stage Gaz ran out to save Eden and Kobe from the downpour...

...but as soon as he put him down he raced out to the rain again!

Lisa and I decided that the kids shouldn't have all the fun and decided to join them in the downpour. It was SO fun!!! It was such a warm night and the water was actually really warm.

Lisa thinks she beat me at the waterfight but I think we were pretty even :)

It was a fantastic night. Who would've thought the bike centre in the rain would be so much fun!! As Phebe said 'this is the best time I've ever had at the bike centre!'.
