Fungi

Yesterday we went for a picnic at Hollybank Forest. Ever since the boys went there for their school excursion it reminded me of how beautiful it is and that we should hang out there more often.

We had the best time - the boys loved kicking the footy around with Aaron, while I got to snap photos! :) I came across some more amazing mushrooms.

It's incredible how something so tiny can be so beautiful.

The Lake

Last weekend I thought I'd take 'the boys' (as in the three boys) out somewhere different to get them out of the house for an hour or two. We decided to go up to Waverley Lake for a play. Jalen was getting excited looking at the lake as he has his cross country there in a month.

There were lots of cool ducks and swans around who were very tame and came straight over to us.

I love taking photos of ducks. They all seem to have such personality.

Kobe could've watched them all day long.

The other two weren't so keen on the ducks but loved the climbing frame and tiny skate park they had there. We were the only ones there so they had lots of fun mucking around on the equipment.

It was nice to go somewhere different and have such a pretty place all to ourselves.

Hot Autumn Day

Today Kobe and I had a lovely catch up with Bec and Lynne and their kids. Today's weather was absolutely perfect weather. I wish it would stay like this all year around - a cool night, but not too cold and then a beautiful sunny, warm day. It actually got quite hot while we were playing at the park.

Luke is so cheeky. He obviously remembers me and my camera and every time he sees me with it out, he hides his face so I can't take any photos of him!

I did end up getting him a few times when he didn't realise though.

He was so excited when his best friend Archie turned up for a play. They were so cute and ran over to each other and gave each other a big hug.

Joel just had his birthday. It's hard to believe that our 'little' ones are turning two now.

Annie doesn't look so little anymore, compared to Thomas.

Thomas was very clever and sat for the first time while we were there!

I tried all morning to get a nice shot of Annie. She wouldn't crack a smile for me, until a freddo frog was pulled out of Nanny's bag!

It was great to catch up with Liz too. Bec is so much like her Mum and she is going to love me saying that! :)

Kobe had the best time playing in the sun. Hopefully we'll have a lot more days like today.

Autumn

Aaron's school has this beautiful big tree that puts on a lovely show every Autumn. I happened to have my camera with me today when we picked him up and just had to take a photo of it, to remind me that despite us heading into winter, this time of year really is beautiful.

Mushrooms

How beautiful is this...I took the photo a year ago and only just found the photo on my computer today, when going through some old photos.

This is it!

Okay - I know I said I wouldn't blog anymore photos of the girls but I've finally finished photoshopping the ones that were worth doing, and just wanted to put a few more of my favourites up. Morgan took this cute photo of Makayla and Harri and I had fun photoshopping it.

It's been fun playing with them and I've definitely learnt how I like my photos to look and have picked a certain style that I like - nice and bright and colourful and natural looking.

I had a play with other things but I definitely have a style that I like now.

Now I'll have to go out and take more photos so I have more to play with! What a time waster! ;)

Easter Holidays

We love having a week off together for the Easter school holidays. So far we have done the usual - gone to the Aquatic Centre (a couple of times!), gone to the movies and today we went ten pin bowling. Before we left I asked the boys if they were ready to get their butts kicked again as I have won the last three times we have played. Of course there was all the usual talk 'I'm going to beat you this time', 'whatever Mum!' etc.

Aaron likes to talk himself up a lot and typed in his name as 'Awesome' instead of 'Aaron'. Poor old 'Awesome' wasn't having such a great game and was using his 'bad back' as his excuse.

Jalen has resigned himself to the fact that he is probably going to come last (even behind Kobe and Noah!) so he was pretty pumped when he got a strike.

Harri is a crack up the whole time, really getting into it and doing lots of fist pumps and 'Yeeeaaah!'.

Kobe was so cute really getting into it this time as well. He would watch the ball the whole way down and then at the end he would jump and down and say 'esssss!'.

Noah actually stayed awake....for at least half the game!

I fluked it again and won another game - must've been my great style! ;)

'Awesome' Aaron made a bit of a comeback at the end with a double strike, but it wasn't good enough to beat me. He was making all kinds of excuses....the girl in the next lane kept getting in the way and putting him off, his back was playing up, Kobe came up behind him and put him off. We will wait and see how he goes tomorrow when we have a rematch :)
