Changing Seasons

This morning I woke up and opened my bedroom blinds, to see lots of Autumn leaves on my lawn.   I was amazed that there was no real sign of any yesterday, but today they were blowing around everywhere.

It made me sad to think that the seasons really are changing. I don't want things to move on from summer which sounds crazy, because you would think after the summer we had, that I would just want to get away from it.  To me though, it makes things harder as time is moving on and it means it's longer that we have been without Noah and Aaron.

In saying that I don't actually mind autumn. I love the warm days and cool nights and love taking photos of the beautiful changing leaves.  I was out at Mum and Dad's today and stopped to take this photo as we were driving back. Kobe asked me why I was taking it, and I said that the leaves looked beautiful and soon they would fall off the trees. He then said 'cause it's winter?'.

I reminded him that it's still autumn, but unfortunately winter is on the way.   I hate winter and am not looking forward to it at all. I have a feeling that 'our winter' as a family is going to be very long, it's going to get harder for all of us before we can enjoy 'our summer' again.

  1. You know I have always wanted to buy that house! Dad always said it would be so cold, but to me it's so grand. I see what you mean about letting go of Summer because this past Summer you had Aaron.

  2. I wish we could forever be in that Friday, the day before Grand Final day last year, just finishing Attack and on the way to buy the junk food for Saturday's game. Autumn is my favourite season - I think the vividness of colour, the way it stands out and says, "look at me" makes me stop and slow down and appreciate things and people more, a little gift that Noah would do too. xx

  5. I don't enjoy winter at all. I really hope your winter isn't too long. Even though I don't comment often I'm still reading your blog, still thinking and praying for you and your boys. I feel so amazed at the wonderful strength you have.

  6. Your post reminded me of a talk that I heard in General Conference by Joseph Wirthlin - "Sunday Will Come." I later copied it and carried it with me for a very long time. It helped me through a time of great despair and hopelessness in my life. I do not comment often, but know that you are in our families thoughts and prayers.

  9. After every winter there is spring and then the warm sun of summer. Your winter will pass and then it will be sping and summer once again. Best wishes!

  10. I know it may be of little consolation but after winter will come spring and summer. Think how gorgeous your yard will be with all the new growth.

Hoping the winter gives you all a chance to cuddle up together and remember. Grieving is never easy but sadly something we must go through when we lose the ones we love. And you my dear have lost so very much.

Prayers for you and your beautiful boys.
