Happy Boys

Just taking a little break from posts about Aaron's funeral (still a lot to write about it) to share some happy news.  This morning Jay and I popped into Kings Meadows High School to drop something off to the girls in the office. Aaron loved his work, and often came home telling me funny stories about the 'girls' in the office as he had a lot of fun with them.   It was strange going up there, knowing that today was the day he was supposed to be starting back at work, with the summer holidays being over.

We went in to have a chat, and the next thing we know they placed three boxes in front of Jay and told him they were special presents for him, Harri and Kobe.  At first I thought they were cakes or something (as they were in brown cardboard boxes), but inside was a netbook for EACH of the boys, as a present from the school.

Jay was so excited and very keen to get home straight away so he could play with it.  He rang Harri in the car and told him and Harri said 'cool!' and then when Jay explained there was one each, Harri said 'really!!!?! awesome!!'.   I had three very excited boys this afternoon.

Kobe kept saying 'me got me own laptop!'.  He couldn't believe how lucky he was, and straight away got onto his favourite websites - ABC for kids and Reading Eggs.

Don't you just love Harri's concentrating tongue! Obviously something very serious was going on.  He was actually watching last season's episodes of 'The Block' getting ready for season 2012. He's still addicted to it.

Thank you to KMHS for such a generous and thoughtful gift for the boys.  It made their day (and probably their year!). It's nice to see them so happy after everything that has been going on.

I have followed your story for the past few weeks and I am touched by your honesty, your faith and your belief that everything is going to be ok, even as you walk through these dark days.

  6. What a wonderfully, kind & thoughtful thing for the school to do! Something (anything) to bring a smile to their faces is a God-send for all. AND they can learn and entertain themselves. I'm so glad that Aaron was much loved!

  14. Harri's tongue hanging out must be genetic, inherited from his Grandma.
It was so lovely to see Kobe so thrilled about having his very own computer.
There are some wonderful people blessing your lives at the moment.
