The sun sets on the Suns

On Saturday we headed to Aurora looking forward to watching the newly formed Gold Coast Suns team play Hawthorn.  I was kind of dreading it thinking it was going to be freezing as it's almost the middle of winter, but it was the perfect day for footy.

It's nice having the Watsons so close to us now as we can visit them before the game, and in between quarters.

Maddie was so cute and said to me that she made me a present.  She handed over this cute drawing all folded up out of her pocket.  Aaron is the one in the purple happy pants and I'm of course the one with the flower in my hair :)  I love it!

We loved sitting in the afternoon sun watching the game.

Towards the end of the game the sun started setting which was so pretty.

Hawthorn won by 71 points which we kind of expected, but Aaron was excited anyway :)

As we were leaving Jay ran into two of his good friends.  His friend Jared on the left had moved  down south a few months back, so he was so excited to see him and ran over and gave him a huge hug.

Mum had made a Hawthorn coloured blanket for herself during the week, and also a cute little sleeping bag for Linc. He was very cosy and warm at the end of the game.

It was a lovely afternoon and we were so lucky with the weather.   We have lots of live footy planned over the next few weeks - it is definitely Aaron's favourite time of the year!
