Gorge Floods

Yesterday we couldn't resist heading up to the Gorge with the rest of Launceston to check out the floods.  After a very long and nervous night for a few of our friends, we were so glad to hear that although they were packed and ready to evacuate when the siren sounded, they didn't have to.

The water up at the Gorge was incredible. It was flowing so fast that the water was splashing right up to the paths and getting us wet at times.

There were so many people around that it was hard to dodge them with Noah's new chair as it is so big.

Harri was typical Harri and got sick of it after ten minutes. He kept asking how long we had been walking for and complaining that he had a tummy ache (what he does when he's tired of walking).  He was happy to sit down and have a rest while we had some lunch.

This little monkey was cracking us up as Jalen was going to take some photos of us together, so I went to kiss him on the cheek and then he started pulling all sorts of crazy faces on purpose, to make us laugh.

Thank goodness the water has peaked and there are no homes in danger of flooding anymore. Check out how fast the water was 'flowing'.  It was more like huge waves.

  2. Lauren and I took a drive over Kings bridge and it was frightening driving over it with all that water underneath (and all the additional weight on top from all the people and so many cars going slowly!)

  3. That's incredible, I didn't think it had rained that much. Glad to hear that it didn't get any worse.

  4. Got some blogs to catch up on I see - Love your new look, easier to read and you did that 'squishing all the photos in thing' looks great. The gorge was awesome huh? We went and had a look too - my sister even went across on the chair lift - I've never seen so many people on the chair life before. Love the photos of you and Kobe. xo
