Christmas Cheer

The other day while driving to the gym I noticed a local business was putting up some framework around their usual sign. I was wondering what was going on, and didn't think anymore of it until Kylie mentioned on Facebook that she had seen their awesome Christmas display.

I've been driving past it every morning on the way to the gym and am amazed at how much effort they have put into it. It looks fantastic and they have a sign saying you can leave presents there to go to City Mission, for people who are less fortunate.

Tonight after the gym I was driving past it with the boys and there were two girls dressed up as an elf and Mrs Claus waving at all the cars saying 'Merry Christmas'. The boys were so excited, so we decided to pull over and go and say hi and get a photo taken.

They gave the boys a candy cane each and some colouring in pages and said that if we bring a present back we can put it in the big donation box, and they said Santa even makes a noise when you put it in. The display on the window is a big chute that goes all the way from the donation box to the North Pole which Harri was so excited about and on the way home he kept saying 'that's so cool that the presents go straight to Santa, isn't it Mum!?'.

It's nice that a business would do something so special to bring a bit of Christmas cheer to those in need. I told the boys we definitely will go back with a present one night when we go out as a family to look at the Christmas lights, and look forward to seeing it all lit up.
