Birthday Brunch

Today I am enjoying my last day of being a 'youngin' - as tomorrow I officially hit middle age! On the weekend I was talking to Pres. P. about how I was turning 35 this week, and he was saying that once he hit 35 it was all downhill from there - his body could no longer do the things he used to be able to do. I have already been feeling a bit like that the last couple of years - it takes me a lot longer to catch up after a big weekend, or my body pays for it after a session at the gym, whereas before I wouldn't have felt it as much.

On the other hand it's the strangest thing to tell people that I am almost 35 as I feel anything but 35. Sometimes I look at my boys and it really hits me - I have an almost 10 year old, or I have four boys and it's incredible to me to think that I am their Mum and responsible for them, when I still feel like a teenager! Other times I look in the mirror or see photos of myself and realise how old I look, and am shocked and wonder when the wrinkles started to appear!

The girls and I always try to get together before someone's birthday, so this morning we went to the Tasmanian Chocolate Studio (again!) for brunch.

When I walked in I saw that Lisa was there with Eden. She was buying some chocolates, and thought how lovely it was as I knew it was Jacquie's birthday today and thought she was getting them for her. I asked her what she was up to, and she couldn't believe I was there as she was actually buying the chocolates for me! Thanks sooooo much Lisa - the are very yummy, and I think I have eaten one too many right now as I have that 'eaten too much chocolate and feeling sick' feeling - but it's good!

Kobe had fun walking around and checking out the chocolates.

It's so nice to see Bec's little tummy growing!

Bec and I both had waffles with raspberry sauce.

Oliver thought they looked much nicer than his toasted cheese sandwich, and kept wanting to have some of Bec's raspberry sauce with his sandwich. In the end Bec gave him her left over sauce and he had lots of fun dipping his sandwich into it! Maybe it's something they should add to their menu!

Thanks girls for a yummy brunch and catch up. I'm sure I will have a few more grey hairs next time we catch up ;)

  4. 35! that's so young. I'm turning 37 this month (oh man that sounds wrong) One of Isaac's friends asked if I was his big sister the other day...felt pretty young for a moment then.

    Have a wonderful birthday Lisa.

  9. I'm sorry I missed your birthday Lisa! It looks like you celebrated in style. 35 is a great age but I do wish I had less lines and even lesser grey hairs!
