Reality Check

I thought I had better blog before everyone gets worried. It has been a busy three days - nothing major going on, but just flat out and no time to sit down to blog. On Saturday we were out doing a few jobs and I was sitting in the van waiting for Aaron and Harri who had gone into a shop. I started fiddling with my hair and looked in the rear view mirror and look what I found - my first grey hair!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't believe it!! How did it go like that without me even noticing!! Do they just turn grey overnight or what!? I was freaking out. Most of my friends my age have had a few grey hairs for a while, but I was happy that I could always say I had never had a grey hair - until now :(

Aaron has been going grey for a long time. He has this little grey patch in the top of his head that everyone comments about. A few years ago he was totally paranoid about it, and even wanted to dye it. I told him it would look ridiculous and he should just live with it as it's going to get worse anyway. At school all the students ask 'did you dye your hair Mr King?' and he gives them his sarcastic tone back 'um yeah! I thought it would be really cool to just dye my hair grey on one patch on the top!'. Or else he will say 'no, I'm going grey since I started teaching you', or 'no, I was painting on the weekend' (depending on which mood he is on the day!).

I'm rushing out to buy a box of hair dye this afternoon! Even though I'm almost 35 I don't feel anywhere near that, but it's times like this that you are given a reality check and know you really aren't as young as you feel.

  3. Oh Lisa - I nearly had an asthma attack laughing so much! They do creep up the rotters - DO NOT go looking as he may not be alone! I remember Samantha on Sex and The City had a great saying about not pulling out grey hair - something like "pull out a grey hair and seven more come to his funeral!!!"

The word verification is "unbeast" - unleash your inner beast perhaps! lol

  5. You have done well. I have had grey hairs showing up for years. That is why I am gradually going lighter - it disguises them better :)

  9. You can't be serious Simone!! I get HEAPS of zits! I hate it. It's like I'm a teenager - always around 'that time' and it drives me insane.

  10. I don't know if I'll ever go grey. My grandfather has the same colour hair as me (a little yellowy in his old age but hardly grey) and he's in his 70s. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I get the occasional zits too. Ah, the plight of the woman.

  14. Welcome to my world.
It is really mysterious, how that sucker grew so long without you noticing it, or one of the boys telling you about it.
    Love Mum.
