Fresh Strawberries

Earlier in the week Kylie dropped by with some fresh strawberries that she had just picked at Old Mac's Farm. Since Simone and Simon went before Christmas, we were inspired to go and get some ourselves, but when I rang up a few weeks ago they were 'between picks'. We decided today we should go and grab some before they stop picking them again. It's a great little spot - so close to home, but it feels like you are way out in the country.

There were so many strawberries!

We just took Jay and Harri and they thought it was heaps of fun, having their own baskets and picking their own.

Harri definitely ate more than he picked.

I think he ended up without about three in his basket, and then got Aaron to put more in for him!

Jalen on the other hand was a trooper and picked heaps (and also ate heaps!).

Despite eating so many we ended up getting lots to take home.

The boys love that they can now eat as many strawberries as they want as we usually only buy them for treats and when they are on special.

  1. That's cool that you have such a variation of school holiday activities for the kids (and that Aaron is off work to do them with you all too!)

  3. I would like to go there and pick some strawberries, and now we have left it too late, because the boys are going back to school, and it would have been fun to do it together.
They should have weighed Harri, before and after his pick.
    They looked like huge strawberries.
    Are they sweet?
    Love Mum. xxx

  6. Oh wow it looks like there were heaps more strawberries than when we went. I love how you can eat them at the same time as picking them.
