Mad Monday

Today at lunch time I went and picked up Aaron and the boys from school to take them to Aurora Stadium. It was a very exciting day as Hawthorn were flying down to show off the premiership cup. Aaron was so excited as he had special permission to go for a few hours as he wasn't on class anyway.

The boys anxiously waiting for it all to start.

Before the team arrived the crowd was warmed up with lots of singing of the Hawks theme song - over and over again!! Harri really got into it.

Kobe on the other hand wasn't so sure about all the noise and yelling and kept bursting into tears!

The crowd kept on growing and lucky for us, it was such a nice day. They are saying there was about 5000 people there.

Nicki, Alex, Maddi, Alex and Mum all came in as well to join in on the celebrations. Mum has finally decided to jump on the bandwagon and join all the Hawks supporters!

Finally there was a bit of action and it was so exciting! A helicopter flew straight into the stadium while we were all there - arriving with three of the players - Grant Birchall, Luke Hodge and Sam Mitchell and the coach - Alistair Clarkson.

They got out and straight up onto the back of a ute with the premiership cup!!

Finally the rest of the team arrived and after a speech by Jeff Kennett were introduced one by one.

The players were each given a Tassie devil soft toy. Some of them had fun tying up one of the soft toys to some helium balloons, and were trying to get them to take off into the air!!

The biggest cheers were definitely for Shane Crawford and Buddy Franklin.

It was a really fun afternoon, and exciting to be a part of it all.

The players hung around to sign autographs afterwards, but there was no way we were going to line up - the line up was massive. We already have most of their autographs anyway, so we were just happy to celebrate with them.

  2. Glad to see you had a photo with Brad in it! Project stalk-a-hawk was in full swing at the airport! I took Georgina and the kids out, but they just rushed them straight off the bus into the lounge - they all looked SO tired!
