Fractions

This morning on the way to school, Jalen was asking me how I know when the baby is ready to come out. I told him that you start to get some pains in your tummy and your tummy gets really hard and then relaxes again, and they get so bad that you can't walk or talk. He looked at me and goes 'oh like those period pains' (Jay and I often have good conversations about everything as you can see!). I told him they can start off like period pains, but they then get stronger and were called 'contractions'.

He then said 'oh yeah -I know about contractions - it is like a half and a quarter!'. We both had a good laugh, when I told him they were a bit different.

  1. Jay! He's not going to be much help in an emergency labour. He'll get out the calculator instead of some towels.
