Fun with Uncle Chrish

We love having Chrish come to visit. Whenever he comes 'home' it's like he's never really been away. The boys were excited to get home from school one day last week and have Chrish here. We were going to a school welcome back BBQ at Noah's school, so told Chrish he should come along too.

It was a really windy night, so the BBQ ended up being inside which the boys loved as it meant they could play inside with all the cool toys.

We thought the boys shouldn't have all the fun and decided to join in on having a turn on the scooter boards. It was lots of fun racing up and down the hall!

They have great bikes that can be controlled using your arms so the boys had lots of playing on them all night. They decided to make trains and drag each other around.

I'm not sure who had the most fun - the boys or Chrish and Aaron! :)

Liffey Falls

Last Friday Chrish came down from Sydney to spend 10 days at 'home'. Before he came down he said he was keen to go for a walk at Liffey Falls, so we arranged to make it a bit of a day trip. Lucky for me it was during a school day and the boys were at school, so Kobe and I got to enjoy the trip on our own. We met Mum, Chrish, Nicki and Becky and the kids there.

Nicki is amazing with how she copes with three young kids - especially on a bush walk! Lincoln was such a good baby and slept in the pouch most of the way.

Three digital SLR cameras on a bush walk with beautiful scenery is not a good combination! What could've been a 45 minute walk ended up being about three hours as we stopped constantly to snap photos of anything and everything! We really do look like the paparrazzi!





Chrish cracked me up as he would disappear all the time and then reappear in these random places in the middle of the river, snapping photos.

Mum scared me when she decided to follow Chrish across a log. I remember yelling 'you will break your camera Mum!!', as I was more concerned about her camera than her falling in! (thanks for the photos from facebook Chrish!).

Chrish is getting very clever with his camera. I LOVE this one he took.

The kids were so great the whole time and just loved exploring and picking up things along the way.






Kobe had a moment, but looked so cute I just had to take a photo! :)

Along the way we saw lots of interesting and beautiful things. The girls thought these were 'fairy jelly beans'.




It's always exciting getting to the end and seeing the amazing falls. I could just sit there all day and look at them.






Chrish took of his shoes and went in near the falls for photos.

I didn't think much of it till I looked over and there he is actually IN the falls while his camera was off on the side taking photos with the timer!

We relaxed a bit (and Chrish dried off!) before we headed back up to the top.


It was such a beautiful day and so nice to go walking together at such a beautiful place. Eamon was all tuckered out by the end of it.

World's Greatest Shave

Today was the big head shave at Aaron's school for the Leukaemia Foundation's 'World's Greatest Shave'. The students ended up donating over $800 to see Aaron and another teacher get their heads shaved, plus some other students who joined in with them. Aaron wanted to try to match the students total and was really happy to raise over $770 on his own. Thanks so much to all those who donated money - it is such a great cause.

Chrish (who is down from Sydney, but I haven't blogged anything about that yet!), Kobe and I didn't want to miss the action so we went along for a look. Kobe was so excited to see Aaron at work!

Aaron wasn't fussed about shaving off his hair as he used to have a number one all over a few years back (much to my disgust!), but the other teacher actually had a pony tail so it was a big sacrifice for him to get his head shaved!

The prefects were in charge of shaving Aaron's hair off and they couldn't wait to get their hands on it!

The teacher with the pony tail organised for a professional hair dresser to do his (he wasn't quite as trusting as Aaron is!) and she cut off by snipping off the pony tail to which he got lots of cheers!

There was a big crowd of students to check out the action.

Aaron was quite happy for them to just go for it...


but got a little nervous when they got close to his ears!

He kept joking that they should stop and leave him with just a mohawk!


He was quite happy with the results and says he likes being bald!

I think it looks like he just got out of jail!

Kobe wasn't sure what to make of him afterwards, and kept staring at his head.

He soon warmed back up to him when he realised it was actually fun to touch, and he was still the same old Dad :)
