I just got back from tea with 'the girl's' - Pip and Bec. We decided it was time to go out for tea again so that we could try out the new Greek restaurant. We wanted to go their last time we went out, but we chose to go out on the only night it was shut! We have definitely found another favourite. We will have to add it to our other two favourites - Suwan Thai and Prickly Cactus (Mexican).

The food was so good and it was also very reasonably priced. Bec and I were saying we have similar (good) taste in food as we often end up getting the same thing. Tonight we both had 'mixed gyros' which was lamb and chicken with pita bread, salad and yummy Greek potatoes.

Pip had a spinach and feta pie which she said was also really yummy.

Now I just hope that the 'morning' sickness stays away enough for me tonight to keep it all down! :(

The Answer

Tonight Aaron had an early game of basketball (that is very rare) so we all went to watch him play. He plays with a heap of guys from church and their team is called 'The Answer'. Aaron's favourite basketball player is Allen Iverson, who's nickname is 'The Answer'. I thought that since our team is called 'The Mollies' that they should be called 'The Peter's', but he wouldn't go for it!

Noah kept his eye on things all night - unlike the other two who just had fun running around with Jess and Sariah.


They lost by 11 points in the end, but it was a good game.

The First Christmas

Just some early advertising for the play our ward is putting on. I just finished putting the details on the flyer and will be sending it out to each ward this week. We are doing two shows - an early 2 pm show for those families who don't want to come out at night and a 7 pm show.

Mexican Night

This afternoon we went out to Mum and Dad's for tea with the family. We would usually have it on the first Sunday of the month, but because Eden is down from Sydney we decided to have it a day earlier so we could all catch up with him. He came back from his fishing trip last night.

The boys were very excited all night. It is always chaos when all of the grandkids are together. We missed Chrish, Steph and Chloe. Hopefully soon we can all have a family meal with everyone there.

Jay gave everyone a sneak preview of his Christmas Parade moves that he will be doing with his school on the 24th of this month. Kelsea thought it was fantastic and kept clapping and dancing along with him!


Maddi was excited to see Grandma and was taking books over to everyone all night for them to read to her. It was very cute.

For tea we decided on a Mexican theme so we all brought along something Mexican. There was sooooo much food, but it was very yummy.



Noah decided he didn't want to sit in his wheelchair any longer (another cranky day :( ) so Maddi jumped in it instead.

After tea the boys jumped in the bath and the girls had a great time splashing around with them.

The boys discovered a boomerang in Grandma's toy box so Eden decided he would take it outside with the boys and give them a demo on how they work. Eden came to the conclusion when he couldn't get it to come back to him that it was just a 'tourist' boomerang! I doubt he could get any boomerang to come back to him ;) Of course Jay had to end up throwing it on the roof. Harri thought it was funny to aim it at the windows. I don't think he quite got the concept of what it was supposed to do!



The boys were very excited when I asked them if they wanted Uncle Eden to come home to our house. Harri kept jumping around yelling 'yes, yes, yes!'. Lucky Eden gets to sleep on the bottom of Jay's bunks tonight before I take him to the airport in the morning. It has been great catching up with him.

Morning Surprise

On Thursday night Aaron did the music at the social at school. They had a Halloween theme and all the students dressed up and they had prizes for the best costume etc. Before the social Aaron ran around town with a couple of the prefects picking up Halloween decorations and prizes etc.

On Friday morning the boys were very excited to wake up and find lots of cool Halloween balloons in the lounge room.

Blown Away

Yesterday Bella's parents, Justin and Lisa went to Kings Meadows High and were presented with the $1000 cheque that the students raised to help Bella with her liver transplant. The Examiner came and did a story and took photos, and it appeared in the paper today.

Justin and Lisa were actually 'high school sweethearts' at KMHS so they were saying how touching it was that the school raised so much for them. Last weekend over 550 people attended the Gala Dinner for Bella, including her Dr from Melbourne. They told Aaron that their family had arranged it all without them knowing and they couldn't believe how the community is so generous and willing to help them out.

Supposedly a couple of weeks ago Bella was on a TV show called 'The Gift'. We missed it, but Lisa was telling Aaron that the show is going to follow Bella right through the process of receiving her new liver and how it goes afterwards, so she will be back on the show again. Now they just have to wait for a liver to become available. It is sad to think that one person's tragedy, saves another one's life but it must also be wonderful for the donor family to know that their loved one's life, also helps another.

Frustrated

Yesterday I finally got to take Noah to see the ENT specialist after waiting 3 months for an appointment. It took 2 months to convince his paediatrician that it was important enough to get a referral. I often have to keep going on about the same thing to get a referral to see a specialist. 14 months ago Noah got his tonsils and adenoids removed. After he had it done he was a totally different boy - so much more alert and awake and so much healthier. It's amazing what being able to breath better can do for you!

Over the last 6 months I have noticed that Noah hasn't been able to breath as well again. He has started snoring again and I noticed some swelling in his nose again. He has also been getting a lot of sinus infections and has been very irritable on and off over the past 6 months (we were thinking he was possibly getting headaches from his sinuses). I jumped on the internet (what would we do without the net!!?) and discovered that adenoids can actually grow back. I was hoping that wasn't what had happened.

Yesterday when I went to see the ENT he first of all said that he didn't think that would have been the case, but after looking down Noah's nose with a special camera (which Noah wasn't very happy about!) he said that they have grown back!! He then told me that he didn't do the surgery himself last time. Since we did it through the public system we were just given whoever was on that day to do the surgery, and he said that a junior registrar did it and obviously he didn't take enough of the adenoids out, as they have grown back.

He then said that Noah needed to get them taken back out and that he would put us back on the waiting list. Last time we waited 9 months and I asked him if it was going to take that long again. He said because this time it would be day surgery the wait would be up to three months and that he can't guarantee who would do it again.

He then told me that we could pay for him to do it privately and that he could do it next week if we wanted. After getting a price list of how much it was going to cost and coming home to think about it I rang back his office to tell them we wanted to do it privately. They then tell me that his list for next week had booked up since we had seen him (one hour before!) and we now have to wait 6 weeks!!! I was so frustrated. I just want Noah to be well again and hate that he has to wait so long for something that should have been done right in the first place. It is going to cost a lot to get done privately, but I just want it to happen soon and to be done right, so he can be well. Hopefully once it is done, he will be a lot happier and healthier again.
